We provide a support service to young people (Years 10/11) whom, for a variety of
reasons, may not be fully integrated in mainstream education.

WHO DO WE WORK WITH?

We will work with those young people, their parents or carers and their teachers to:
    • Give them a supported insight into the world of work
    • Enable them to identify their potential training or work aspirations
    • Help them develop their Functional Skills (numeracy, Literacy and I.C.T)
    • Assist them with recreational, leisure and sporting activities
    • Access to the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme

These services are also available to young people in the NEET category.

WHAT DO WE FACILITATE?

We will facilitate:
Vocational Profiling, a process aimed at helping individuals identify their
potential work skills and aspirations.
Supported Employment in individually selected work placements.
The development of a ‘Progress File’ through which they will:
    • Gain recognition for their knowledge and skills
    • Be equipped to progress to further learning and qualifications
    • Improve their employability
    • Build their confidence
    • Improve their social skills
    • Enhance their lives

HOW DO WE WORK?

Since our programme requires a high level of one-to-one support, a Vocational Profile and Personal Education Plan for each young person, they will go through an initial assessment process which will result in a Personal Action Plan, detailing the content, structure and support needs for their individual programme.

WHAT WILL THE PROGRAMME CONSIST OF?

Their programme will consist of a combination of:
    • Development of their Vocational Profile
    • Supported Employment in work placements
    • Job Coaching by a trained employment support worker
    • Learning workshops and coaching to develop and enhance both basic and
       key skills
    • Sports and recreational activities to enhance their health and well being
and build their social skills, confidence and self-esteem
    • Access to vocational training modules in mainstream school or college
    • The development for each individual of a ‘Progress File’ showing their
achievement in both formal and non-formal learning and including an OCR
       Skills for Life qualification
    • Job Search and Job Match support for those young people progressing
       to work
    • Assistance in accessing Full Education provision for those young people
       progressing to college
    • Assistance in pursuing a chosen career.
